Volleyball: Poles win five out of five in Euro championship

Poland on Thursday dispatched Ukraine 3-0 in Amsterdam, notching up their fifth consecutive win in the men's European Volleyball Championship.

The Poles, who had already secured a place in the final 16 of the tournament, next take on Spain in the knockout stage.

Poland, managed by Belgian coach Vital Heynen, kicked off their championship campaign with a 3-1 win against Estonia on Friday. They beat the Netherlands 3-0 in their second game.

They followed up with a 3-0 victory against the Czech Republic on Monday and a day later saw off Montenegro 3-0.

The tournament is being held in four countries: Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Slovenia. It started last Thursday and runs until September 29.

Poland are one of the world's strongest teams. They won the Volleyball Men's World Championships last year and are ranked No. 4 by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
