The team's scheduled flight to Slovenia was cancelled due to a workers' strike at the airport, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
“Our volleyball team got stuck at the airport in Amsterdam. We are sending a government plane so that they can easily get to the semi-final in Ljubljana. We are keeping our fingers crossed for them,” Poland’s Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki tweeted shortly after midnight on Tuesday.
Poland on Monday blasted their way through to the semifinals of the men's European Volleyball Championship with a decisive 3-0 win against Germany.
In a bid for a place in the final, Poland will face Slovenia on Thursday in Ljubljana.
