Piotr Żyła triumphs at Poland’s summer ski jump tournament

Żyła leaped 111m in the second round and scored 266.4 points. He beat the Szczyrk hill summer record, set at 110.5 m by Austrians Claudio Moerth and Maximilian Lienher in July.

Triple Olympic champion Kamil Stoch won the silver, with 263.9 points. Stefan Hula was third, with 262.7 points, after leaping 107 m in the second round.

In the women’s competition, Kinga Rajda won gold, after leaping 91 m in the first and 93.5m in the second jump.

Joanna Szwab won the silver medal with jumps reaching 88 and 92 meters.
Nicole Konderla scooped the bronze. She first jumped 88.5 m and came second. However, she failed to maintain her lead over Szwab in the final round.
