European medals for Polish swimmers

Kawęcki touched in at 1:49.23 to win the event on Wednesday, ahead of Germany’s Christian Diener, who finished in 1:50.05.

Luke Greenbank of Britain came in third, clocking a time of 1:50.09.

Meanwhile, Poland’s Paweł Juraszek, Marcin Cieślak, Karol Ostrowski and Jakub Kraska won silver in the men’s 4x50m freestyle relay, with a time of 1:23.74.

Russia took the gold with 1:22.92 and Italy finished third in 1:24.50.

The 2019 European Short-Course Swimming Championships run in Glasgow until Sunday.
