Disabled athletes to compete in snow sports in Poland

Some 150 disabled athletes from across Europe are gearing up to compete in a variety of winter sports at an upcoming international event in Poland.

The European Winter Para Sports Event, Poland 2020 will be held in the ski resorts of Czarna Góra and Duszniki Zdrój in the southwest of the country from February 24 to March 2.

Athletes from 13 European countries are expected take part in competitions in four snow sports: para-alpine skiing, para-snowboarding, para-cross-country skiing, and para-biathlon.

The event is being organised by the Polish Paralympic Committee under the auspices of the country's President Andrzej Duda, with public broadcaster TVP Sport among media partners.

Aside from its competitive aspect, the project aims to promote an active lifestyle among people with disabilities.
