The 19-year-old Pole, ranked world No. 18 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), saw off the Australian player 6-1, 6-3 in their second-round encounter on Wednesday.

Up next for the rising Polish tennis star at the post-Australian Open tournament in Adelaide is American Danielle Collins, who defeated world No. 1 Ash Barty 6-3 6-4.

Świątek reached the fourth round of the women’s singles at this year's Australian Open, where she lost to Romania's Simona Halep.

The Polish teenager in October won the French Open, claiming her maiden Grand Slam title and becoming the first Pole to lift a Grand Slam singles trophy.
