OFFSIDE Polish snooker prodigy calls it a day

In what came as a shock to many sports fans, Kacper Filipiak announced his retirement from professional snooker following a 6-3 defeat to Zhao Xintong during the third qualifying round of the 2021 World Snooker Championship in Sheffield, England.

The 2021 World Snooker Championship take place from 17 April to 3 May 2021 in Sheffield, England. It is the final ranking event of the 2020-21 snooker season. Qualifying for the tournament took place between 5 and 14 April 2021. There were 128 participants in the qualifying rounds, among them 2 Poles: Antoni Kowalski, who withdrew for health reasons, and Kacper Filipiak.
