"Thank you for all these years on the national team, for being its captain. For all the beautiful, wonderful moments that we experienced thanks to you," said Duda as he presented Błaszczykowski with the Commander's Cross of the Order of Reborn Poland.

Błaszczykowski is considered one of the best Polish football players this century. He was capped 108 times and scored 21 goals for his country. He played in the Euro 2012 and 2016 championships, and in the 2018 World Cup.

He currently plays for Wisła Kraków, the Polish club with which he started his professional career and of which he is now a co-owner.

He spent some of the best years of his career with Borussia Dortmund, helping the German giant win two Bundesliga titles.
