The Polish team won 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 26-24) in the Pool A group-stage game at Ariake Arena in the Japanese capital.

Poland lost 2-3 to Iran in their opening game at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics last week, but then beat Italy and Venezuela.

Poles, with 10 points, are top of their group, ahead of Canada with seven points and Japan with six.

Regardless of the result of their last group-stage game against Canada on Sunday, the Polish team will advance to the tournament's quarterfinals.
