Tennis: Poland’s Świątek climbs to world No. 6

Poland’s Iga Świątek has moved up two spots to a career-high No. 6 in the latest rankings by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).

The 20-year-old Pole is also number five on the leaderboard for the season-ending eight-player WTA Finals event in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Meanwhile, Poland's Magda Linette has slipped seven notches to 59th place in the new WTA rankings, which were released on Monday.

Australia's Ashleigh Barty remains world No. 1, followed by Belarusian star Aryna Sabalenka and the Czech Republic's Karolína Plíšková.
