Tennis: Poland’s Hurkacz wins singles, doubles titles in Metz

Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz has won his fourth ATP singles title by beating Spain's Pablo Carreno-Busta in the final of the Moselle Open tennis tournament in the French city of Metz.

The top-seeded Pole saw off the 30-year-old Spaniard 7-6, 6-3 in the championship match on Sunday.

The 24-year-old Polish player, who is set to move up to world No. 12 in the Association of Tennis Professionals’ (ATP) singles rankings, also won the men's doubles competition at the Moselle Open, partnering with countryman Jan Zieliński.

The Polish duo beat Monaco's Hugo Nys and France's Arthur Rinderknech 7-5, 6-3 in the final on Sunday.

Hurkacz in November last year won the men’s doubles at the Paris Masters together with Canada’s Félix Auger-Aliassime.

That win marked the first ATP doubles title for the Polish player.

Hurkacz in August 2019 won his first ATP singles career title in the Winston-Salem tournament in the US state of North Carolina. In January this year, he claimed his second singles title at the Delray Beach Open in the United States, and followed up with a victory at the Miami Open in April.
