The 24-year-old Polish player, who is world No. 12, will next face top seed Daniil Medvedev of Russia or Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in the men’s singles competition in the California desert.

Hurkacz last month won his fourth ATP singles title by beating Spain's Pablo Carreno-Busta in the final of the Moselle Open tennis tournament in the French city of Metz.

Hurkacz in August 2019 won his first ATP singles career title in the Winston-Salem tournament in the US state of North Carolina.

In January this year, he claimed his second singles title at the Delray Beach Open in the United States, and followed up with a victory at the Miami Open in April.
