The stage was won by Marek Goczał and co-driver Łukasz Łaskawiec, with Michał Goczał and Szymon Gospodarczyk finishing second, ahead of a third Polish team, Aron Domżała with co-driver Maciej Marton.
Goczał-and-Łaskawiec led from start to finish of the special section of Tuesday’s Stage Three, which began and ended in Al-Quaysumah, Saudi Arabia.
Polish crews have so far won all the stages, with Goczał-and-Łaskawiec triumphing in the prologue on Saturday, Domżała-and-Marton in Sunday’s Stage One, and Goczał-and-Gospodarczyk in Monday’s Stage Two.
Despite this string of victories, none of the Polish crews tops the general standings. American driver Austin Jones and his Brazilian co-driver Gustavo Gugelmin lead the way after three stages.
Goczał-and-Gospodarczyk are fourth, having received a 15-minute penalty for missing a checkpoint in Sunday’s stage.
Meanwhile, Domżała-and-Marton and Goczał-and-Łaskawiec suffered losses in the earlier stages and are now sixth and seventh respectively, the PAP news agency reported.
Marek vs. Michał
Michał Goczał told PAP that for him and his brother Marek, "family rivalry is definitely a bit of a spur.”
Meanwhile, Marek Goczał, the elder of the brothers, said: “We are constantly trying to prove to each other who is faster.”
He added that both had “learned many lessons” last year when they competed in the Dakar Rally for the first time and are now profiting from the experience, PAP reported.
