The announcement came after the Polish Olympic Committee approved the lineup of the national team for the Beijing Games, which will take place from February 4 to 20.

Some last-minute additions to the team are still possible, officials told reporters.

Four years ago at the Pyeongchang Olympics, Poland was represented by 62 athletes.

The Polish Olympic team for Beijing will also include a contingent of 71 coaches, doctors, ski waxing technicians, physiotherapists and other personnel, according to the Polish Olympic Committee.

Poland won two medals at the previous winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, finishing 20th in the medals table.

Team Poland won six medals, four gold, one silver and one bronze, during the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, the best Olympic Winter Games tally for Poland ever.
