The Pole on Sunday cruised past Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka to win the Stuttgart Open tournament in Germany, claiming her seventh career singles title.

Świątek defeated Sabalenka 6-2, 6-2, notching up her 23rd straight match victory and claiming her fourth WTA title in a row.

The 20-year-old, coached by countryman Tomasz Wiktorowski, in early April took over as the new world number one in women's tennis, becoming the first Pole to top the WTA rankings.

The Polish tennis player earlier this month won the Miami Open tournament in the US state of Florida.

In March, she won the BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament at Indian Wells, California.

In February, she claimed the title at the Qatar Open tennis tournament in Doha.

In May last year, Świątek won the women's singles at the Italian Open clay-court tournament in Rome. In February 2021, she triumphed at the Adelaide International tournament in Australia.

Świątek in October 2020 won the French Open, claiming her maiden Grand Slam title and becoming the first Pole to lift a Grand Slam singles trophy.
