Football: Raków Częstochowa beat Lech Poznań in Polish Cup final

Defending title holders Raków Częstochowa beat top-flight side Lech Poznań 3-1 to win the Polish football Cup on Monday.

The game at the National Stadium in Warsaw marked the second time Raków have won the national Cup title.

A crowd of around 35,000 watched the match, which was officiated by leading Polish referee Szymon Marciniak, assisted by linesmen Paweł Sokolnicki and Tomasz Listkiewicz, Poland's PAP news agency reported.

Raków and Lech are neck and neck at the top of the Polish premiere league, whose winner will face off against the Częstochowa side for the national Super Cup title later this year in a curtain-raiser to the next football season.
