Volleyball: Poles win bronze in Nations League

The Polish men’s national volleyball team has won bronze in the Nations League after beating Italy 3-0.

The match in Bologna on Sunday came a day after Poland lost a semifinal to the United States 0-3.

In Sunday’s battle for first place in this year’s Nations League, France defeated the United States 3-2.

Last year, Poland took the silver in the Nations League after losing 1-3 to Brazil in the final.

In 2019the Poles finished third after beating Brazil 3-0 in the third-place match.

Poland and Slovenia will jointly host the men’s world volleyball championships later this summer.

The championships are scheduled to be held by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), the world governing body for the sport, from August 26 to September 11.

Poland last year won bronze at the 2021 Men's European Volleyball Championship.

In 2018, Poland beat Brazil in the final of the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championships in Turin, Italy, defending their title and claiming their third world championship gold after wins in 2014 in Poland and in 1974 in Mexico.
