Five European championship medals for Polish canoers, kayakers

Polish canoers and kayakers claimed a total of five medals, one gold, one silver and three bronze, at the European Championships Munich 2022 in the city of Munich, Germany.

On Saturday, Poland’s kayak duo of Karolina Naja and Anna Puławska took the gold in the women's K2 500 m event.

Jakub Stepun and Bartosz Grabowski finished runners-up in the men’s K2 200 m.

In another Polish podium finish on Saturday, Sylwia Szczerbińska and Julia Walczak took the bronze in the women’s C2 500 m.

Meanwhile, Marta Walczykiewicz took the bronze in the women's K1 200 m event, and Oleksii Koliadych added another in the men’s C1 200 m.

From 11-21 August 2022, Munich hosts nine European Championships, staging the biggest multi-sport event since the 1972 Olympic Games, according to the official website.
