In the very first minute of the game, a clever pass from left-back Alejandro Balde let Lewandowski find the net for the first time in the Spanish top division, La Liga.

A few minutes later, the Catalan side were stunned by their opponents when Alexander Isak’s effort yielded an early equaliser, as the Swedish striker chipped the ball over Barcelona’s goalkeeper, Marc-André ter Stegen.

The exchange of blows in the first six minutes of the game was followed by several opportunities from both sides, with the best one from David Silva denied by ter Stegen, keeping it all square at half-time.

In the second half, both teams were hunting an advantage. Sociedad’s goal from David Silva’s cross shot was disallowed as the Basque team's Aihen Muñoz was caught offside.

In response, Barcelona brought in subs and doubled down on their attacks, which gave them a 66th-minute goal after France’s Ousmane Dembele rolled the ball past the keeper.

Only two minutes afterwards, Lewandowski extended Barcelona’s lead to 3-1, putting the ball in the right-bottom corner of the goal.

In the 79th minute, Lewandowski’s pass found Barcelona’s 19-year-old wonderkid, Ansu Fati, who added another goal, making it 4-1 at the scoreline.

The victory against Real Sociedad has taken Barcelona up to fifth in the table after two rounds of matches.

Lewandowski’s goals were his first and second for the La Liga outfit, after he went goalless last week against Rayo Vallecano.

Next weekend, Barcelona will face Real Valladolid, one of the teams recently promoted to the Spanish top tier, La Liga. Earlier next week, the Catalan side will square up against England’s Manchester City in a friendly.
