The event will take place between June 21 and July 2 in Kraków and 10 other southern Polish cities.

Athletes from all over Europe will compete in 28 sports, including aquatics, athletics and martial arts.

Kraków will host the majority of the competitions as well as the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games.

Athletes will also compete at venues in Chorzów, Krynica-Zdrój, Zakopane, Nowy Targ, Tarnów, Wrocław, Rzeszów, Oświęcim, Nowy Sącz and Krzeszowice.

"We are waiting for the public tender procedures because the prices on the market are crazy right now because of inflation and the war in Ukraine," the head of the Organizing Committee of the Games, Marcin Nowak, told Radio Poland's Klaudiusz Madeja.

He added: "As a result, a lot of things are unknown, especially when it comes to prices. But we have the concept, and we have the money and the budget. We know how to do it and we are ready."
