Short track: Two medals for Poland at European championships on home ice

Poland has won two medals, a silver and a bronze, at the 2023 European Short Track Speed Skating Championships, which ended in its northern city of Gdańsk on Sunday.

On the last day of action at Olivia Arena in Gdańsk, Poland’s Diane Sellier, Łukasz Kuczyński, Michał Niewiński and Paweł Adamski finished third in the men's 5000 metres team relay, with a time of 7:27.891.

The Netherlands claimed the gold, with a time of 7:19.783, while Italy finished runners-up in 7:24.210.

A day earlier, Poland's Natalia Maliszewska took the silver in the women’s 500 metres.

The 2023 European Short Track Speed Skating Championships were held in Poland from January 13 to 15.

The Netherlands topped the medals table with 10 medals, six gold, three silver and one bronze. Team Poland finished fourth, tied with Hungary.
