The 32-year-old produced jumps of 97.5 and 105 metres, setting a new hill record and retaining the title that he won two years ago in Oberstdorf, Germany.

Żyła beat Germany's Andreas Wellinger and Karl Geiger, who finished second and third respectively.

The Pole was the only jumper to exceed the 100-metre mark in the competition on Saturday.

Countryman Dawid Kubacki finished fifth overall, followed by Kamil Stoch in sixth place.

Paweł Wąsek placed 16th and Aleksander Zniszczoł finished 20th.

The Poles were set to compete in a team event on Sunday.
