The 33-year-old, a former world champion, delivered jumps of 137.5 and 138.5 metres to capture his 38th career World Cup podium spot.

Meanwhile, Poland’s three-time Olympic champion Kamil Stoch finished seventh in the Lillehammer competition, which was part of this season’s ski-jumping World Cup circuit and also marked another leg of the Raw Air series of events in Norway.

This year’s Raw Air tournament began at the end of last week and runs until March 19 on three different hills across Norway: in Oslo, Lillehammer and Vikersund. The tournament comprises a total of 18 rounds of jumps from individual events, team events and qualifications.

Meanwhile, the 2022/2023 ski-jumping World Cup circuit, run by the International Ski Federation (FIS), features a total of 39 competitions, including 32 individual events, in various countries.

After 27 individual events this season, Kubacki is second in the overall World Cup standings, with 1,560 points, behind Norway's Halvor Egner Granerud with 1,878 points.

Austrian Thomas Thurnbichler last year took over as the head coach of the Polish men’s ski-jumping team to replace Czech Michal Doležal.
