Tennis: Poland’s Linette and Hurkacz advance in Miami

Poland’s Magda Linette has advanced to the fourth round of the Miami Open tennis tournament.

The 30-year-old Pole beat former World No.1 and currently No.14 seed Victoria Azarenka 7-6(3), 2-6, 6-4 on Saturday.

In the Round of 16, Linette will face World No.3 Jessica Pegula for the first time.

Meanwhile, World No. 9 Hubert Hurkecz, deafeated Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis, winning a three hour and 31-minute match 6-7 (10), 7-6 (7), 7-6 (6) on Saturday.

In the Round of 32, the 26-year-old Pole will square off against France’s Adrian Mannarino.

The 2023 Miami Open runs until April 2.

Poland's world No. 1 Iga Świątek, last year's Miami Open champion, has withdrawn from the tournament due to a rib injury.
