Meanwhile, Poland’s three-time Olympic champion Kamil Stoch finished 10th in the Planica competition, which was part of this season’s ski-jumping World Cup circuit and also marked the first leg of the season-ending Ski Flying World Cup Finals in Slovenia.

Countryman Aleksander Zniszczoł came in 14th in Saturday's event, the penultimate individual competition of the season.

One more individual competition will take place at Planica's Letalnica hill this weekend before the 2022/2023 World Cup season wraps up on Sunday.

Poland's Żyła last month won the gold in the men's individual normal hill event at the 2023 Nordic World Ski Championships in Planica.
