The Pole on Sunday cruised past Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus to win the Stuttgart Open tournament in Germany, defending her crown and claiming her 13th career singles title.

Świątek defeated Sabalenka 6-3, 6-4 at the clay-court tournament to win a back-to-back trophy in Stuttgart.

The Polish tennis ace last year dispatched Sabalenka 6-2, 6-2 in the championship match at the Stuttgart Open.

The 21-year-old Polecoached by countryman Tomasz Wiktorowski, has topped the Women's Tennis Association's (WTA) world rankings since April 4, 2022.

She now leads the world rankings with 8,975 points, ahead of Sabalenka, with 6,891 points, and American Jessica Pegula, with 5,735 points.

Świątek in February won the Qatar Open tournament in Doha.
