The Polish world No. 1 ousted the 12th-seeded Russian 6-1, 6-1 in the semifinals.

She needed less than 80 minutes to prevail and make her first career Madrid Open final, news outlets reported.

The 21-year-old Pole will face Belarusian world No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka in the championship match at the clay-court tournament in the Spanish capital on Saturday.

Świątek, coached by countryman Tomasz Wiktorowski, has topped the Women's Tennis Association's (WTA) world rankings since April 4, 2022.

The Polish player missed last year's Madrid Open due to a shoulder injury.
