Football: Raków Częstochowa seal Polish top-flight title

Raków Częstochowa have secured Poland’s top-flight league title, with three games to go until the end of the season.

Raków secured their first Polish Ekstraklasa championship after their closest rival, Legia Warsaw, lost 1-2 to Pogoń Szczecin on Sunday.

Raków and Legia will both represent Poland in European competitions, which will begin later this year.

The Polish premier league season ends later this month.

Last week Legia beat Raków 6-5 on penalties to win the Polish Cup.

Legia and Raków will face off against each other again for the national Super Cup title later this year in a curtain-raiser to the next football season.
