The duo saw off the Dutch pairing of Robin Haase and Botic van de Zandschulp 7-5, 6-1 in the championship match to claim their second title together and first of the season.

The clash at the clay-court tournament in the Italian capital lasted 66 minutes, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Zieliński and Nys in January reached the final of the Australian Open men's doubles in Melbourne, where they lost 4-6, 6-7 to home favourites Rinky Hijikata and Jason Kubler.

Last year, they won the men’s doubles at the Metz Open tournament in France.
