Football: Poland's Lewandowski wins La Liga golden boot

Polish soccer star Robert Lewandowski has ended his first season as a Barcelona player by winning the Spanish premier league's Pichichi top scorer award.

The Polish goal machine on Sunday ended his first La Liga season on 23 goals, four more than runner-up Karim Benzema of Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Barcelona were crowned champions of the Spanish La Liga for the 2022/2023 season, clinching their 27th league title overall and their first since 2019.

Lewandowski has previously won seven top scorer awards in the German Bundesliga, where he played for Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

The Polish marksman in October last year won the Gerd Müller Trophy for the best striker of the 2021/2022 season at the France Football Ballon d'Or Awards in Paris.
