However, the day was dominated by Canada's Ethan Katzberg, who set a national record to take the gold.
Katzberg, who had already made a significant impression by topping the qualifiers, delivered a monumental throw of 81.25 meters in the fifth round.
Poland's celebrated Olympic champion, Nowicki, came a close second with an impressive throw of 81.02 meters. The host nation celebrated as Hungary's Bence Halasz secured the bronze with his best effort of 80.82 meters.
Since initiating his streak in Beijing in 2015, Nowicki has consistently earned accolades in every senior international championship he has entered. His tally now reads an impressive 10 medals – an Olympic gold and bronze, two silvers, three bronzes at World Championships, and two golds along with a bronze at European Championships.
Paweł Fajdek, another contender from Poland and a favorite in the hammer throw community, narrowly missed out on a medal. Seeking to tie the record of pole vault legend Sergey Bubka with a sixth consecutive world title, Fajdek could only muster a fourth-place finish.
This silver marks the first medal for Poland in the ongoing championships, which will continue in Budapest until Sunday, August 27.
