Polish clubs did very well in their Thursday's matches in Europe. First, Raków Częstochowa unexpectedly managed to hold the Portuguese favourites Sporting Lisbon to a 1-1 draw at home in the Europa League. Soon after, Legia Warszawa defeated Bosnia's Zrinjski Mostar 2-1 away in the Europa Conference League, reclaiming the leader's position in group E after the 3rd round of games, topping Aston Villa, Zrinjski and AZ Alkmaar.
Meanwhile, the reigning Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb lost their Europa Conference League game against the Czech Republic's Viktoria Plzeň - which led to Poland overtaking Croatia and advancing to 20th position in the UEFA club ranking.
The next games of Raków and Legia in European cups will take place on November 9. The Polish champions will play away against Sporting, while Kosta Runjaić's players will face Zrinjski Mostar at home.
