Tennis: Poland’s Hurkacz through to last eight at Paris Masters

Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Paris Masters tennis tournament in France.

The 26-year-old Pole, ranked world No. 11 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), defeated Argentina's Francisco Cerúndolo 6-4, 6-3 in the round of 16 in the French capital on Thursday.

Hurkacz, who is coached by American Craig Boynton, is playing for his eighth career singles title in Paris, while also seeking to secure a berth in the season-ending ATP Finals later this month.

The Paris Masters indoor hard-court tournament runs until Sunday.
