Tennis: Poland’s Hurkacz through to last 16 in Dubai

Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz has made it through to the last 16 of the men's singles at the Dubai Tennis Championships in the United Arab Emirates.

The 27-year-old Pole, ranked world No. 8 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), defeated Germany's Jan-Lennard Struff 7-6, 6-7, 7-6 in their first-round encounter on Monday.

The Polish player will now take on Australian Christopher O’Connell for a place in the quarterfinals.

Hurkacz is playing for his eighth career singles title in Dubai.
