Tennis: Poland’s Hurkacz climbs back to world No. 8 after Estoril win

Polish tennis player Hubert Hurkacz has moved up two spots to climb back to a career-high No. 8 in the latest ATP rankings.

The 27-year-old Pole, coached by American Craig Boynton, on Sunday won the Estoril Open clay-court tournament in Portugal.

Hurkacz took down Spaniard Pedro Martinez 6-3, 6-4 in the final to claim his eighth ATP singles title and his first on clay.

Meanwhile, Maks Kaśnikowski, a Polish 20-year-old, has improved seven spots to No. 253 in the latest rankings released on Monday by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Serbian ace Novak Djokovic remains No. 1 in the ATP ranking, followed by Italy's Jannik Sinner and Spain's Carlos Alcaraz.
