Tennis: Poland’s Hurkacz moves into 2nd round at Monte-Carlo Masters

Polish tennis player Hubert Hurkacz has booked his place in the second round of the Monte-Carlo Masters clay-court tournament in the south of France.

The 27-year-old defeated Britain's Jack Draper 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 in the first round of the men’s singles on Tuesday.

The Polish world No. 8 will next face Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain.

The Pole, who is coached by American Craig Boynton, on Sunday won the Estoril Open tournament in Portugal.

Hurkacz took down Spaniard Pedro Martinez 6-3, 6-4 in the final to claim his eighth singles title and his first on clay.
