Poland has a chance of winning around 16 medals at the upcoming Games, the head of the Polish Olympic Committee (PKOl) has said.

Radosław Piesiewicz said his country is hoping to be represented in France by a contingent of more than 200 athletes, with the final lineup expected to be announced in early July.

The Games will begin on July 26 and run through August 11.

Polish athletes brought home 14 medals, four gold, five silver and five bronze, from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Summer Games, which took place from July 23 to August 8, 2021 after being postponed from 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the Rio Summer Olympics in 2016, Poland won 11 medals, two gold, three silver and six bronze.

At the London Olympics in 2012, Team Poland scooped 10 medals, three gold, two silver and five bronze.
