Łukasz Szeliga will serve as the president of the Polish Paralympic Committee once again for the next four years. This decision was made during the General Congress of Delegates, which took place on May 9, 2024.

Szeliga said he was excited to continue the presidency in view of the plans he has already prepared for the coming term. The first is to implement an Integrated Qualification System with two certificates regarding sports for people with disabilities.

The first certificate - "Assisting in the organization of sports events for people with disabilities" - is intended to build a database of assistants, assistant instructors, conscious volunteers and animators of particular sports. The second -"Running a training unit and sports group in sports for people with disabilities" - is aimed at instructors of particular disciplines.

Szeliga said that one of the main aims here was to ensure that PE is really always possible for students with disabilities. He said, "It is no secret that students with disabilities are often exempt from these classes."

Another goal for Szeliga is the quality of work in national teams: "The level of Paralympic sport is constantly rising ...  We also need to constantly improve the quality of our work, including the development of youth staffing."

Łukasz Szeliga has been the president of the Polish Paralympic Committee since 2015, and is also the president of the Management Board of the Polish Disabled Sports Association "START".
