The Polish world No. 1, who is the defending champion in Paris, ousted the French qualifier 6-1, 6-2 in the first round of the women’s singles on Monday.
Świątek, who triumphed at Roland Garros last year and in 2022 and 2020, will next face Japanese Naomi Osaka in the women’s singles competition in the French capital.
Meanwhile, Poland's Magda Linette crashed out of the women's singles at the French Open on Monday after losing 1-6, 1-6 to Russian Liudmila Samsonova in the first round.
On the men's side, Poland’s world No. 8 Hubert Hurkacz made it through to the second round with a five-set win on Sunday over Japan's Shintaro Mochizuki.
The 2024 French Open kicked off on Sunday and runs until June 9.
