In the course of the Tuesday night event, the Spanish 'LaLiga Awards' for the season were presented. The Polish seasoned superstar striker found himself among the laureates, being named in the 'Team of the Season' alongside his FC Barcelona teammates - German midfielder İlkay Gündoğan and Uruguayan centre back Ronald Araujo.
All in all, the 'La Liga Team of the Season' unveiled at the gala included 15 players - mostly of the league champions Real Madrid, runners-up FC Barcelona, and third-placed Girona FC, but also with some entries from Athletic Bilbao, Atlético de Madrid and Real Betis.
Lewandowski netted 19 goals in the Spanish top league in 23/24, finishing second in the top scorer chart - while Ukraine's Artem Dovbyk of Girona, also present in the 'La Liga Team of the Season', championed this ranking with 5 more goals.
A host of other individual and team accolades of the highest rank were awarded during the Tuesday gala - including the 'Europe's Best Footballer' title, claimed by the Paris Saint-Germain's French superstar Kylian Mbappe. Robert Lewandowski was invited on stage to co-announce the winner - and handed his younger colleague a statuette for his prestigious achievement.
The event in Sardinia was the European part of the gala - while the main ceremony of KAFD Globe Soccer Awards, where the World's best footballers will be awarded, will take place in Dubai in December.
