The fastest Polish athletes narrowly missed out on podium finishes in both competitions.

Yamanishi, a world record holder, won the men's race in 1 hour, 20 minutes and 48.9 seconds. He was followed by Olympic silver medalist Caio Bonfim of Brazil, who finished 44.2 seconds behind.

Japan’s Kazuki Takahashi secured third place, while Poland’s Ben Hlima came in fourth, 2 minutes and 45.3 seconds behind the winner.

In the women's 20 km race, Torres clocked 1 hour, 28 minutes and 28 seconds to edge out Peru's Kimberly García León by 2 seconds.

Brazil’s Viviane Lyra took third, finishing 26 seconds behind the winner, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Poland's Katarzyna Zdziebło, a former world and European championship silver medallist, finished fourth.

Despite missing the international podium, she was crowned Polish national champion in the women’s 20 km for the sixth time, with Magdalena Żelazna taking silver and Anna Zdziebło, Katarzyna's younger sister, claiming bronze.

Meanwhile, Hlima was named Polish champion among the men, with Mateusz Nowak earning silver and Arkadiusz Schiedel taking bronze.
