No woman has won Roland Garros four times in a row since French legend Suzanne Lenglen achieved the feat over a century ago, from 1920 to 1923.

Świątek, who also claimed the title in 2020, would equal that achievement with a win this year, moving closer to the all-time record of seven titles held by American Chris Evert.

Despite recent struggles, including an early exit in Rome and a drop to fifth in the world rankings, Świątek says she has taken time to refocus.

“Sometimes you just have to be braver and act, not dwell on mistakes,” she told reporters ahead of the tournament.

Meanwhile, countrywoman Magda Linette will play Denmark’s Clara Tauson in the first round of the French Open in the evening. It will be her first encounter with Tauson.
