"Dear fans, given the circumstances and the intensity of the club season, together with the coach we decided that this time I will not take part in the national team’s training camp in June," the 36-year-old striker wrote on social media on Monday.
“Playing in the red-and-white national colours has always been a dream come true for me, but sometimes the body gives a signal that it is necessary to take a break for a moment," he added. "I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the boys and believe there are still many beautiful moments and goals to come. See you soon!"
Poland opened its 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign in March with back-to-back home wins over Lithuania (1-0) and Malta (2-0).
The team next faces Finland in a Group G qualifier in Helsinki on June 10.
Four days earlier, the Polish team will play a friendly against Moldova at the Silesian Stadium in the southern city of Chorzów.
Poland’s qualifying group also includes the Netherlands.
The 2026 World Cup will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
