Fręch has never beaten Vondrousova in three previous attempts and has never advanced beyond the second round at Roland Garros, having reached this stage in 2018 and 2023.
Top-seeded compatriot Iga Świątek will return to action on Friday, May 30, when she plays Romania’s Jaqueline Cristian (60th WTA) in the third round.
