Poland will play a home friendly against Moldova at the Silesian Stadium in the southern city of Chorzów on Friday.

Four days later, the Polish team will face Finland in a World Cup qualifier in Helsinki.

Manager Michał Probierz last week released a list of 26 players called up for the two games.

The lineup announced by Probierz includes regulars such as Southampton defender Jan Bednarek and Inter Milan midfielders Piotr Zieliński and Nicola Zalewski.

Notably absent is team captain Robert Lewandowski, who has withdrawn from the squad citing fatigue after a demanding club season with Spanish giants Barcelona.

New call-ups include GKS Katowice midfielder Oskar Repka and Qarabağ goalkeeper Mateusz Kochalski.

During the match against Moldova, winger Kamil Grosicki will receive an official send-off as he prepares to retire from the national team.

Meanwhile, Zieliński, who typically wears the captain's armband in Lewandowski’s absence, is expected to earn his 100th international cap for Poland against Moldova.

Lewandowski said in a social media post last week that he would miss the June training camp due to exhaustion following the season with Barcelona.

Poland opened its 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign in March with back-to-back home wins over Lithuania (1-0) and Malta (2-0).

Poland’s qualifying group also includes the Netherlands.

The 2026 World Cup will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
