The Belarusian triumphed 7–6, 4–6, 6–0 to reach her first French Open final.
Świątek, who was aiming to become the first woman in the Open era to win four consecutive titles in Paris, fought back to level the match after dropping the first set in a tiebreak.
However, Sabalenka dominated the decider, blanking her opponent 6–0 to seal victory.
Sabalenka will face either Coco Gauff or French wildcard Loïs Boisson in Saturday’s final.
The result ensures a new women’s singles champion at Roland Garros this year.
