The 24-year-old defeated Caty McNally of the United States, 5-7, 6-2, 6-1, in the second round of the women’s singles in the British capital on Thursday.
Świątek, ranked world No. 4 by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), will next face American Danielle Collins for a spot in the round of 16.
The Polish player reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals in 2023, her best result at the All England Club so far. Last year, she was eliminated in the third round.
Świątek, coached by Belgian Wim Fissette, last week lost the final of the Bad Homburg Open grass-court tournament in Germany to American Jessica Pegula, 4-6, 5-7. It was her first career final on grass and her first final on any surface since last year’s French Open.
