The three-time Olympic champion secured victory with her final attempt, throwing 70.94 metres. The mark is the best ever recorded in her age category.
In other Polish performances, Anna Gryc finished second in the women’s 400 metres hurdles, clocking a personal best of 55.05 seconds — the fifth-fastest time in Polish athletics history, according to the national federation.
Angelika Sarna was also runner-up in the 800 metres, setting a lifetime best of 1:59.19. Both Gryc and Sarna collected valuable points towards qualification for the world championships in Tokyo in September.
