Poland's Aleksandra Mirosław sets new world record to win speed climbing gold in Seoul

On 24 September 2025, Polish climber Aleksandra Mirosław became world champion in speed climbing at the World Championships in Seoul, South Korea.

Aleksandra Mirosław set a new world record of 6.03 seconds, improving her previous mark by 0.03 seconds, and beat China’s Lijuan Deng, who finished in 6.22 seconds. Bronze went to another Chinese athlete, Yafei Zhou.

This is Mirosław’s third world title in speed climbing, adding to her Olympic gold from Paris 2024 and previous world championship wins in 2018 and 2019.

The 31-year-old remains one of the most decorated and dominant athletes in her sport.
