Japanese runner wins Warsaw Marathon

Japan’s Ryoma Takeuchi won the 47th Warsaw Marathon on Sunday, finishing in 2 hours, 11 minutes and 21 seconds to beat an international field of more than 10,000 runners.

Israel’s Amitai Yonah placed second in 2:15:49, and Denmark’s Thijs Nijhuis was third in 2:16:46.

Poland’s Arkadiusz Gardzielewski crossed the line in 2:17:37, placing fourth and earning the national marathon title.

In the women’s race, Switzerland’s Michelle Schaub set a personal best of 2:33:41 to claim victory. Poland’s Emilia Mazek was second in 2:35:36, followed by countrywoman Anna Bańkowska with 2:36:51.
